Interview with Bastien Crouzet
The role of a Clinical Demand & Supply Manager
“We provide high-level expertise in a niche and critical area across the entire clinical supply chain flow, from the planning of the initial drug substance manufacturing to the Investigational Product reconciliation/destruction.”
What is your job position and how would you define it?
I am working on a global project, acting as an interface between CMC Chemistry Manufacturing Control and Clinical Operations. I define and monitor an end-to-end supply plan from drug substance to investigational product throughout the whole project from the pre-clinical study to post-approval.
What is your expertise area?
As part of the R&D program on a pharmaceutical project, or on vaccine projects for some of us, our role requires a global understanding of pharmaceutical and clinical development to understand the assumptions and constraints of all our partners: from regulatory, quality, analytical or clinical operations. This knowledge then enables me to generate a more optimized end-to-end supply plan.
Why is your job position relevant at Aixial Group?
We support our clients in developing the molecules that will be on tomorrow’s market. This means ensuring the product is available in the right place, at the right time, and with the right status for clinical studies and other types of development demand.
How does your area of expertise stand out in the CRO industry?
We provide high-level expertise in a niche and critical area across the entire clinical supply chain flow, from the planning of the initial drug substance manufacturing to the Investigational Product reconciliation/destruction. We have the capacity to work with many types of product specificities: biologics, synthetics, cell and gene therapy, as well as pharmaceuticals and vaccine products.
What are some current and future challenges or trends impacting your area of expertise?
The main challenge for us is to deliver quickly to be the most competitive in the market while guaranteeing a high level of quality and reliability and I am convinced that digital innovation such as AI can play a key role in this.
“From clinical operations to CMC and clinical supply chain, we are dedicated to working on tomorrow’s molecules for an improved quality of life and a better future.”
